PlannedA simplified blockchain ledger — proof-of-work blocks, wallets, and basic peer-to-peer networking.
The problem
Blockchain is easy to talk about abstractly and easy to get wrong in the details the first time you actually try to build one — proof-of-work, wallet key management, and peer-to-peer gossip are each their own rabbit hole.
The plan
Deliberately scoped down: a simplified ledger with proof-of-work block mining, basic wallets (key generation, balances, signing transactions), and just enough peer-to-peer networking for two nodes to agree on the same chain. Not a production chain, not a new consensus algorithm — a stepping stone that's honest about being a stepping stone.
Why Rust
Rust's ownership model maps well onto the exact bugs that make naive blockchain implementations unsafe — shared mutable state across concurrent peers, mostly — and this is a chance to get real practice with the language on a project with a clear, boundable scope, rather than learning the language and designing a system at the same time.
Status
Planned. This one is explicitly the last item on the roadmap — a deliberate "not yet, but scoped" placeholder rather than something starting soon.
