Planned

A prayer-time and Quran memorization (hifz) tracker with streaks and spaced-repetition review scheduling.

The problem — and why it's personal

This one is for myself first. I keep my own prayer times and memorization review scattered across a couple of apps and a paper notebook, and neither is built the way I'd actually use it day to day: prayer times need to just be correct for wherever I am, and hifz review needs real spaced-repetition logic, not a checklist.

The plan

Two things deliberately bolted together: a prayer-time tracker (real prayer-time data for a given location, with streaks for on-time prayers) and a hifz tracker that treats each memorized passage like a spaced-repetition card — due for review on a schedule that adapts to how well it was actually recalled last time, not a fixed calendar reminder.

Why FastAPI + Vue

The two hardest pieces here are a real external API integration (prayer times — simple request/response, but it has to be reliable) and the spaced-repetition scheduler, which is genuinely async-friendly business logic: computing next-review dates, batching what's due today. FastAPI's async support fits that well. SQLite keeps early development fast; the plan is to move to PostgreSQL once the cards/review-history schema actually settles, instead of guessing its final shape upfront.

Status

Planned, not started. First milestone: the prayer-time half alone, since it's useful on its own even before any spaced-repetition logic exists.
